Die [» Demokrative] hat einen neuen Vorstand und eine neue Geschäftsleitung.
Der neue Vorstand besteht neu aus Marina Bolzli, Emma Alber, Patrik Kessler, Daniela Koller und Michael Strebel. Der [» Vorstand] wird bei der operativen Vereinsarbeit von einem [» Team] unter der Leitung der Co-Geschäftsleiterinnen Rebecca Welge und Sabine Jenni unterstützt und entlastet.
Damit wird die operative Co-Leitung von Projekten und Aktivitäten durch die beiden Initiantinnen der Demokrative in die neue Vereinsstruktur überführt und mit dem neuen und vergrösserten Vorstand die Grundlagen und Kapazitäten für Pläne, Vorhaben und Wünsche für die Zukunft gelegt.
Ein kleiner Ein- und gleichzeitig Ausblick dazu: Der Jahresbericht 2020 wird auf Anfrage als PDF weitergeleitet. Die Generalversammlung 2021 ermöglichte es den Anwesenden Glückwünsche für das Mini-Jubiläum 5 Jahre Demokrative auszutauschen.

Im Frühlingssemester 2021 findet an der [» Universität Basel] das BA-Seminar 'Von globaler Partnerschaft zu lokaler Aktion - Politikwissen scha(f)ft nachhaltige Gesellschaft' statt.
Das Ziel dieses Seminars ist die intensive Beschäftigung mit politikwissenschaftlichen Fachinhalten im Anwendungskontext Bildung für Nachhaltige Entwicklung.
Die Veranstaltung kombiniert politikwissenschaftliche Wissensvermittlung mit der Umsetzung in Projekten und wird von [» IMPULS – Facilitating Service Learning for Sustainability] unterstützt.
Die Service Learning-Projekte, die in Kooperation mit externen Partner*innen erarbeitet werden, sind thematisch direkt an Ziele für Nachhaltige Entwicklung angebunden. Alle Projekte stehen im Kontext Hochwertige Bildung (SDG4) und Frieden, Gerechtigkeit und Starke Institutionen (SDG16) und vertiefen Projektspezifisch weitere SDGs.

Die NECE Fokusgruppe zum Referenzrahmen des Europarats für Kompetenzen für eine demokratische Kultur (RFCDC) [» siehe auch früherer Newspost] wurde abgeschlossen und der Abschlussbericht veröffentlicht. Die Projekte [» Demogames] und [» Demokratiebausteine] wurden in die Fokusgruppe eingebracht, im Bericht werden die in diesen und anderen Projekten der Fokusgruppe gemachten Erfahrungen mit dem 'Referenzrahmen für Kompetenzen für eine demokratische Kultur' ausführlich dargestellt.

Race, ethnicity, and nationalism are three very significant and powerful concepts in our world. The fact that these terms, like other constructs, are discursive means that they change their meaning and their significance. But it does not mean that they have lost their meaning. Our world is shaped by constructs that characterize others and us; these constructs ascribe meaning to commonalities and differences.
The course will be taught via interactive workshops, employing the Adam Institute's signature "Betzavta – the Adam Institute's Facilitation Method", taught by its creator, Dr. Uki Maroshek-Klarman.

The course is open to all persons, who are interested in dealing with the topic of racism and discussing equality among human beings in a engaging way. We would like to encourage trainers, teachers, and professionals to apply for this course, if you want to get familiar with the method, and if you want to deepen your competences for experiential based education.
As a follow up, we intent to offer activities for trainers and teachers in Switzerland, and this course can be a very effective way of experiencing the method in action.
